We spent a morning trying to find a waterfall, but without any joy, so made other plans. At the end of the very full day we were tired and just wanted to head back to our holiday home, but spotted a sign on the way back which featured the word waterfall. We stopped and did a bit of research, and realising it was only 10 mins walk from the nearest car park, we headed out to find it. We were not disappointed. Even though we were in the middle of the second hottest summer on record (and so there was less water flowing) the waterfall was stunning. This was taken from behind the waterfall. Magical!

The mysterious lighthouse of the Gower. A place for ghosts? Maybe. When I was there, I had to move like a ghost around there. The tide was rising and the beach was 15 minutes away. I made it easily as I checked the tide hours. But if you go there, be careful and always give yourself enough time to escape, before one of the highest tides of the world reach you.

This was taken at about 5am as the sun rose over Llyn y Fan Fach in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. We wild camped the night before a few metres from this spot.

I shot this while out with my mate Baz and his drone. He was filming the sunset across the river with his drone and I was shooting long exposure landscapes. When I looked up and saw the drone blocking the sun I grabbed a quick snap.

This house was such a long way off it was a challenge to see the details. Out came my camera and I was able to capture this amazing sight. The sun was baking hot and the view could not have been better. I want to live here… in the summer months of course. ;-)

I was visiting Wales for the first time and a friend of mine, Steve brought me to visit the beach, along with his dog Muffins. Since we couldn’t bring Muffins to play at the usual beach, we brought him to the dog beach right next to it. After playing for half an hour with his favourite tennis ball, it was time to go home. Just as we were walking back Muffins took his tennis ball and ran up a small hill, gazing to the sea and enjoying the wind. It was a lovely evening, with a lovely photo to remind me of the simple enjoyments in life.

A last minute drive to Blackchurch Rock in Devon resulted in cracking sunset lighting up the cliff faces. We could barely walk after the 3 hour drive in a Land Rover Defender and got home at 2am, but totally worth it.

I went to visit my daughter who lives on the outskirts of Bristol, specifically for the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta and the Nightglow, when the hot air burners and turned on and off to music. A great spectacle.

I volunteer for a mental health organisation and was meant to be meeting one of their service users who I’m helping out. We had planned to go on a photo walk but unfortunately, they didn’t show. I decided to take a few shots anyway and wanted to get some practice shooting buildings.

I was wondering around the boat workshop along the harbour, and liked the colours of these two boats, with all the ropes and the smaller boats in the background.

Nothing extraordinary about this - just with the extended family, and I loved the way the abandoned floats had clustered down one end of the pool. Almost as if they knew the people had given up on the pool for the day and they only had each other for company.

Beer is a small fishing village located in East Devon on the Jurassic Coast. With the fishing boats sitting right on the beach, it’s a great place to find colour even on the most overcast of days.

Taken in 2010 when the snow actually fell enough for it to count. Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire, a town I lived that inspired me to start a photography group that’s still running today. One of my favourite shots of the town [please don’t steal it though]

A photograph from Sheepstor, Dartmoor that I took from the tor opposite. It’s a great spot that overlooks Burrator reservoir and most of Plymouth. Not too hard on the legs either!

Abereiddy is a hamlet in the county of Pembrokeshire, in south-west Wales. It has a small beach which was awarded the Blue flag rural beach award in 2005. A large car park adjoins the beach, where in the summer an ice cream van can usually be found - wiki

Ludlow Castle is a Norman Fortress that has been extended to be a Royal Palace giving it a significant place in English history. The castle has been owned by the Earles of Powis since 1811 who have preserved the current building which is open to visitors. Photo was taken, with permission, using a DJI Inspire drone on a perfect English summers day. It was a warm summer morning when I was out on the beach not too far from my Mum’s house. It was so calming at peaceful having the beach to myself, apart from the sea snails and limpets in the picture that is! I feel that this photo really captures the calm that pre-dawn always brings, as well as the beauty of the sea looking misty and eerie with the long exposure.

I love the RAF Red Arrows Display Team, who perform throughout the length and breadth of the UK during the Summer. There are nine Hawk Jets in the team, with each year, two new recruits joining the prestigious team. The practice throughout the Winter at RAF Acroteria in Cyprus. They perform amazing acrobatics, at speed of 600 miles per hour and within 6 feet of each other. This is The Corkscrew, where two of them spiral around the other seven. If you ever get an opportunity to see them, make sure you do!!

The black and white contrast in this photo brings out the dramatic seas. Whilst not too rough, the wind was building, as were the seas. The shadows cast by the varying levels of rock add a level of detail only brought out by the use of contrast.

An aerial view of the south side of the historic Jacobean Manor House built in the late 16th century and only owned by one family. Lying on the north side of the Cotswold hills it lies in extensive parkland. The photo was taken on the perfect summer evening with the low sunlight making the golden Cotswold stone glow.
